About Mike Kelley

To say Springtown is special to my wife and I would be an understatement. While I am still a relative newcomer (having arrived to start our family here almost 27 years ago), eight generations of Teresa's family have called Springtown home, dating back into the late 1800's.  For all but seven of my thirty-four years "post-college" I have been a member of the Springtown community and I am proud to call it home.
If granted the opportunity to work for our stakeholders as well as with Springtown's City Council and the leadership team at City Hall, I can promise to be approachable, open-minded, and committed to an exemplary work ethic. I believe much of the knowledge I have gained in both the public and private sector over the last thirty-five years will be applicable to the responsibilities of a Mayor: we must operate as efficiently as possible with the limited resources available to us, and within the provisions of Local Ordinances and Regulations, Texas Government Codes and Statutes, and the Constitutions of Texas and the United States.
Before making a decision about whether or not to support me in the next election, please visit the links on the header of this page (or the menu bar at the top-left corner of the page if on a smartphone).  Similarly to the feeling an applicant might have while interviewing for a job, the risk of appearing boastful while campaigning is uncomfortable.  The reality is that for those who don't already know me, this page might be the only opportunity I have to share information about my background and experience before Springtown's upcoming local election.
